About the Match
Talking about the match first, Australia is batting first at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground and half-centuries from Mr. Consistent, Marnus Labuschagne and former captain Steve Smith has taken the Australian team to a score of 257 runs at the loss of 4 wickets.
The duo of Smith and Travis Head is currently batting in the middle. Colin de Grandhomme has been the star for the visitors as he has taken two wickets from the four that fell on day one.
David Warner scored 41 runs but fell because of a wonderful catch from Tim Southee while Joe Burns seemed sleepy in the middle as he lost his wicket on the first ball.
Steve Smith’s savage reply
As mentioned ahead, the New Zealand fans are also present in the stadium and they heavily booed Steve Smith when he came out to bat in the middle. The fan rejection did not affect Smith as he played a magnificent knock.
