Former India cricketer VVS Laxman made a big statement on Tuesday about former captain Sourav Ganguly. Laxman has said that former captain Sourav Ganguly used to play freely.

Laxman posted a photo of Ganguly taking off his T-shirt in the final of the NatWest Trophy at the Lord’s ground, writing,

“Unconventional and fiercely proud, @SGanguly99 wore his heart on his sleeve. And, sometimes, bared it too! Empowering youngsters who went on to do wonders for the country was credit to his great leadership qualities”

Let me tell you that on 13 July 2002, India won the NatWest Trophy by scoring a huge target of 326 against England with 2 wickets remaining. It was one of the biggest wins of the Indian cricket team at that time. Mohammad Kaif’s unbeaten 87 and Yuvraj Singh contributed 62 runs in this victory.

Significantly, Sourav Ganguly is counted among the most successful captains of India. Ganguly has scored 7212 runs in 113 Tests and 11363 runs in 311 ODIs for India.

After this, in honor of former captain Anil Kumble, he tweeted,
