After winning the first T-20l game against Australia by 11 runs Team India takes the 1-0 lead in the series. After winning the toss Australia decided to bowl first and they were somewhere looked confident at the top when they have reduced the tourists at the score of 92/5 by the end of 14 over.

Then there it began the match-winning knock from Ravindra Jadeja who scored quick-fire 23-ball 44 runs which featured 5 fours and one six to take the scoreboard to 161 runs with the loss of 7 wickets in the 2 overs. Even in the final ODI game at Canberra Jadeja played the crucial knock of 50-ball 66 runs. This inning of Jadeja helped India cross 300 runs mark and registered the first win of the tour.

After the first T-20l game which India has won by 11 runs the former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir believes that Ravindra Jadeja is no all-rounder rather we call him a specialist batsman who should bat up the order at number five to give more depth in the batting order. In the interaction with ESPN Cricinfo, Gautam Gambhir said –

“I would probably want him to bat at number five because then you can have KL Rahul bat at number four, Virat Kohli at number three, and then Jadeja at five, Pandya at six, and you can have another all-rounder at number seven. Use his form.

My point has always been very simple. If you make someone bat at number seven, he will bat like a number seven. If you make him bat like a number four or five, he will bat like it and that is how it has always been with everyone,” Gambhir told ESPN Cricinfo.

RAVINDER JADEJA IS ONE OF THE BEST ALL-ROUNDERS IN THE TEAM – GAUTAM GAMBHIR

Gautam Gambhir also said that Jadeja is one of the best all-rounders in the team either in the ODI or Test cricket and has proved it many times with his whirlwind batting against the A-list teams. Alongside the Jadeja, India can try the options of bowling all-rounder like Axar Patel and Krunal Pandya to provide breakthroughs in the middle of the overs. He added,

“You ask someone to open the batting and he starts thinking like an opener. Jadeja has got t he ability. We all know that he has got the ability, he has a Test hundred, got runs in all conditions in white-ball cricket and why not push him at number five and see whether we can work with the combination because you open up one spot you can play a number six bowler who can chip in with overs. You can play another left-arm spinner like Krunal Pandya or Axar Patel.”
