Carey, who is still trying to cement his place in the team, picked David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan as his openers, with the Rajasthan Royals captain, Steve Smith at number 3. Virat Kohli got the number 4 spot in his team. It is worth noting that Kohli bats the best at number 3 while Smith is born to bat at number 4.

Also, talking about Rohit Sharma, he stands at the second position in the list of highest run-scorers. On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan has been out of the T20I team for a long time. Thus, picking Shikhar over Rohit was a controversial decision that he made.

Another shocking inclusion made by him was of Rishabh Pant. He did not go for MS Dhoni and picked himself and Pant in the team. Ravindra Jadeja is the only all-rounder present in the squad which features Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, and Jasprit Bumrah in the bowling attack.
