The Delhi Capitals are playing the most important match of their IPL 2020 campaign against the Sunrisers Hyderabad right now. The Capitals are just one win away from sealing their maiden IPL final berth. They have surprised everyone by leaving the former Indian U-19 team captain Prithvi Shaw out of the playing XI.
Shaw had done well in the first few matches, but he was having a torrid run with the bat of late. Meanwhile, the fans were also stunned to see Ajinkya Rahane not opening the innings along with Shikhar Dhawan. Rahane has a couple of IPL hundreds to his name and he opened for the Rajasthan Royals previously.

As cricket fans would know that Marcus Stoinis plays in the Big Bash League as well. The Aussie player opened the innings for his team, Melbourne Stars. He ended the season as the leading run-getter with 705 runs in 17 matches. Stoinis had an unbelievable average of 54.23 with the bat.
Since Rahane played an excellent knock against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020, it seems like Shreyas Iyer wants to use him in the middle order only. Also, the presence of Shimron Hetmyer at the back will ensure that Stoinis’ promotion does not leave a massive hole in the DC middle order.
It will be interesting to see how Stoinis performs in this new role, especially because this is a do-or-die match for the Delhi Capitals. He has hit three boundaries so far and looks in fantastic form.
