IPL 2021 is underway and till now BCCI management has successfully organized IPL when the Covid-19 epidemic is at the worst phase in India. Last year IPL was played in UAE due to coronavirus but this year BCCI planned to organize IPL in India only.
In this season some new Indian players have made headlines for their excellent performance while some star International Indian players have failed to mark an impact in this IPL season so far.
In this article, we will look at 3 great Indian players who have failed so far in this IPL season.
5) MS Dhoni – 37 runs in 5 matches (SR – 123.33)
Captain Cool of Chennai Super MS Dhoni has been good so far with the captaincy in this season. But he hasn’t delivered as a batsman in this IPL so far and fans are waiting for his performance so eagerly.
In this IPL MS Dhoni so far has played all 5 matches and batted in 4 innings. In all 4 innings, he has scored only 37 runs. One of the reasons for his fewer runs so far is also his batting position as he comes down the order and gets few balls to play.
4) Hardik Pandya – 36 runs in 5 matches (SR – 97.29)
Mumbai Indians, who were champions last year, are struggling to score runs this year. Mumbai Indians haven’t crossed 170 runs marks in this IPL so far and the main reason for this is the unsuccessful batting of the lower batsmen.
Hardik Pandya of Team India has also batted this season so far, scoring 13, 15, 7, 0, and 1 in this IPL. Hardik Pandya has scored only 36 runs in 5 matches so far with a strike rate of just 97. While everyone knows that Pandya is the X factor of Mumbai Indians who need to score runs.
3) Krunal Pandya – 29 runs and 3 wickets in 5 matches
Like Hardik Pandya, his brother Krunal Pandya is also seen struggling. Krunal plays the role of an all-rounder in the Mumbai Indians team, he has also not been able to score more than 30 runs in five matches. Krunal has scored a total of 29 runs so far this season, scoring 7, 15, 3, 1, and 3.
In bowling too, Krunal has taken 3 wickets at an average of 38.66. Krunal is also the main member of the playing XI of Mumbai Indians so the team management would definitely like to give Krunal a chance in a few more matches.
2) Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 3 wickets in 4 matches (Eco. 9.06)
Indian swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has lost his rhythm in this IPL so far. Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad he has taken only 3 wickets in 4 matches. His average is also more than 45 and his economy is also more than 9.
This IPL season hasn’t been good for Bhuvneshwar Kumar so far and neither for Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH is now at 7 number in the points table with 2 points. Bhuvneshwar Kumar plays a vital role in his team and needs to get back into the form as soon as possible.
1) Yuzvendra Chahal – 3 wickets in 5 matches (Eco. 8.58)
Team India’s regular star bowler Yuzvendra Chahal is playing for RCB in IPL. But his current form is not a good sign for RCB in this league. Chahal has played 5 matches this season and has managed to take just 3 wickets from an economy of around 9.
And if Chahal’s current poor form continues, he may have to sit out of RCB’s playing XI. However, Chahal is one of the successful bowlers of IPL. Chahal has taken 124 wickets in this league.
