Indian opener, Shikhar Dhawan heaped praises on the Indian team captain, Virat Kohli during his recent live session with Irfan Pathan on Instagram. The Delhi Capitals player opined that Kohli’s fitness levels have motivated other players to improve their fitness and physical health.

Talking about the culture of the new Indian team now, Dhawan stated that even the fast bowlers have really improved their fitness levels as they are now more agile on the field.

He even talked about the fact that moving from Sunrisers Hyderabad to Delhi Capitals last year was a huge challenge.

When asked about the team culture of the modern unit, Dhawan explained to Irfan:

“Virat Kohli has led from the front and has changed the culture of the Indian team. He’s so fit, we also feel that we need to be fit, even the fast bowlers are fit, it’s a very good thing. It’s great for the next generation that they will come into the team fully fit.”

He then spoke about his decision of moving to his home franchise last year. Dhawan took a bold step by quitting Hyderabad and joining Delhi. The left-handed opener continued:

“It was a major challenge for me. I was a little nervous since I was going to a new team after 8 years. Having scored 500 runs every season and been a top performer in the team, I was moving to a new te am. At the time, Delhi wasn’t doing well on the table either. It was a big challenge for me. However, I saw an opportunity to overcome a challenge.”
