When asked about the team culture of the modern unit, Dhawan explained to Irfan:
“Virat Kohli has led from the front and has changed the culture of the Indian team. He’s so fit, we also feel that we need to be fit, even the fast bowlers are fit, it’s a very good thing. It’s great for the next generation that they will come into the team fully fit.”Advertisement
He then spoke about his decision of moving to his home franchise last year. Dhawan took a bold step by quitting Hyderabad and joining Delhi. The left-handed opener continued:
“It was a major challenge for me. I was a little nervous since I was going to a new team after 8 years. Having scored 500 runs every season and been a top performer in the team, I was moving to a new team. At the time, Delhi wasn’t doing well on the table either. It was a big challenge for me. However, I saw an opportunity to overcome a challenge.”
Thus, in this way, Dhawan had a very informative live session with Irfan Pathan.
