The Royal Challengers Bangalore have been one of the unluckiest franchises in IPL history. The Bangalore-based franchise has appeared in three IPL finals, losing all of them. This year, they qualified for the playoffs. Unfortunately, they could not win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator match.

Talking about the team’s combination, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have made quite a few changes in their squad every year. Ahead of the IPL 2020, Bangalore signed some big names like Aaron Finch, Josh Philippe, Chris Morris, Isuru Udana, Dale Steyn, and Kane Richardson. The Indian players also did well. However, they could not end their title drought.

Veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel has been a part of the RCB squad since 2018. He also played under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy at the Mumbai Indians. Comparing Rohit and Virat’s captaincy styles, Parthiv stated that he rated Rohit as a better captain in a few aspects.

Virat Kohli has been a very successful India captain: Parthiv Patel

Recently, he caught up with cricket.com for an interview, where Parthiv explained what was wrong with Virat Kohli’s captaincy approach.

“He is a very attacking player himself. He likes to get on with it. I thought he was slightly defensive in taking those decisions as a captain. Other than that, he has been a very successful India captain, no doubt about it. But if you look around RCB’s records in eight years, it is obviously been a long, long time,” Parthiv Patel said.

Parthiv Patel added that RCB had the team that could have won the competition in the UAE this year. Still, he felt that one should not blame only the captain of the franchise because the Director of Cricket and the Head Coach of the team also had equal responsibility.
