Recently on Instagram Live with Delhi Capitals, Shikhar Dhawan Dhawan explains how Rohit Sharma and he became such good opening partners. Shikhar Dhawan believes the trust factor between the two players is behind their success. He said,

“I know him from U-19 days. He was a junior by one-two years and we have camped together. We trust each other and have a great friendship, it works for us,”

Dhawan further said

“It brings you positive energy and vibes when everything is in sync. Whenever I face any problem with my batting, I ask him. We have strong communication going in the middle. We travel 230 days a year together. That’s why the whole Team India is a big family.”

Talking about their opening partnership, Since 2013 Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have opened for India in 107 ODIs. In these 107 ODI’s both the players have shared 16 century and 14 half-century partnerships.

While opening for India in ODI, both of them have scored a total of 4802 runs and they are fourth in the list of highest run-scorer pairs while opening. Former Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly

top the list with 6609 runs.

Talking about T20 cricket, Rohit and Dhawan pair is the most successful pair in this format. Both these players have played 52 matches for India in T20 cricket, in which they have scored the most 1743 runs. In T20Is also they have shared 4 century and 7 half-century partnerships.
